After Napster Deal, Infinite Reality Buys AI Startup Touchcast for $500M

In a bold move that further cements its position as a leader in immersive digital experiences, Infinite Reality (iR) has announced the acquisition of agentic AI pioneer Touchcast in a $500 million cash and stock deal. The announcement comes just weeks after iR’s $207 million acquisition of Napster, signaling a rapid-fire strategy to build a next-generation media and tech conglomerate. The transaction places Infinite Reality’s valuation at $15.5 billion.
Based in Boca Raton, Florida, Infinite Reality has emerged as a quiet powerhouse by acquiring and integrating key players in AI, immersive technology, and digital media. Once associated with the now-taboo term metaverse, the company is reshaping the narrative—swapping jargon for tangible innovation.
A New Era of AI-Driven Interactivity
Touchcast, the newest addition to iR’s growing portfolio, is best known for its cutting-edge “Mentorverse” platform—an agentic AI ecosystem that enables real-time, face-to-face video conversations with AI-powered human avatars. These avatars act as intelligent mentors capable of delivering consistent, high-quality interactions across industries.
Touchcast's core technology runs on OpenAI infrastructure and is hosted via Microsoft Azure under a $50 million strategic partnership. With 27 patents and a suite of enterprise-ready, SOC2-compliant systems, Touchcast promises seamless, emotionally intelligent AI experiences with real ROI—from customer service and sales enablement to education and ecommerce.
CEO Edo Segal, a serial AI entrepreneur, sees this acquisition as the next chapter in humanizing artificial intelligence. “From day one, our mission has been to humanize AI—moving beyond chatbots to create intelligent, emotionally resonant experiences,” said Segal. “With iR, we now have the scale to bring these capabilities to the world.”
The Mentorverse Meets Napster and Beyond
Touchcast’s agentic AI isn’t just theoretical. It’s already being integrated across iR’s properties. Napster users, for example, will soon be able to interact with AI-powered agents for playlisting, trivia, and community engagement—bringing a social, immersive layer to the music experience. For iR Enterprise clients, the technology enables AI sales reps, support agents, and interactive brand ambassadors, all with deep domain expertise.
A standout feature is Touchcast's ability to transform any existing website into an interactive, AI-driven 3D experience—complete with a branded human-like avatar. Segal demonstrated this by generating immersive versions of popular sites like VentureBeat and Imperial College within minutes, showcasing what used to take teams of engineers and months of work.
A $15.5 Billion Vision—Skeptics Be Damned
Despite having around 300 employees, Infinite Reality has drawn scrutiny for its outsized valuation. But according to Amish Shah, the company’s Chief Business Officer, the difference lies in experience and execution. “We’ve been around with seasoned entrepreneurs building towards this moment. We’re not just hype—we’re building real products and doing real deals.”
Shah and CEO John Acunto are serial entrepreneurs with multiple exits under their belts, as is Segal, who previously sold companies to AOL, Answers.com, and Livestream. Their credibility and network have helped secure investors ranging from Liberty Media and MGM to individual backers like Steve Aoki, Imagine Dragons, and NBA star Rudy Gobert.
The Touchcast deal adds to iR’s growing portfolio, which already includes Obsess, Stakes, Drone Racing, Action Face, Ethereal, and Super League Gaming. In 2024, Infinite Reality raised $350 million and acquired Landvault, followed by a $3 billion raise at the beginning of 2025—bringing it to the forefront of the next-generation digital landscape.
Reimagining the Web
CEO Acunto summed up the acquisition succinctly: “Agentic AI is a big part of how consumers and businesses will interact with the web in the future. Touchcast’s technology provides immediate applications across our entire business portfolio and accelerates our mission to lead the transition to a more immersive, personalized, and conversational web.”
As Infinite Reality continues its rapid expansion, it’s becoming clear that they’re not chasing the ghost of the metaverse—they’re building the infrastructure for what comes next. Touchcast, with its powerful, human-centric AI, might just be the keystone.
