Pickle Robot Co., a Massachusetts-based automation provider specializing in truck unloading, has secured $50 million in Series B funding. This investment, led by an undisclosed strategic customer and supported by Teradyne Robotics Ventures, Toyota Ventures, Ranpak, and others, aims to accelerate the development of new features and expand the company's commercial teams to access new markets and regions.

In the third quarter, six customers placed orders for over 30 production robots, scheduled for deployment in the first half of 2025. These orders encompass pilot conversions, expansions from existing customers, and new customer acquisitions. Omar Asali, Pickle's board member and CEO of investor Ranpak, highlighted the company's progress in innovation and customer satisfaction, emphasizing its advancements in field service and manufacturing management.

Pickle's truck-unloading robots utilize "Physical AI" technology, combining a robust vision system with generative AI models trained on extensive data from real logistics and warehouse operations. This enables the robots to perform physically demanding tasks at or above human efficiency, addressing one of the most labor-intensive and high-turnover areas in logistics.

This funding round reflects the growing demand for automation solutions in logistics, aiming to enhance efficiency and address labor challenges in the industry.
